The Presbyterian College of Pharmacy is located in Clinton, South Carolina. The school was founded in 1880 but the College of Pharmacy is relatively new, having started in 2010. The College of Pharmacy offers a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and the program plans to be fully accredited by the ACPE by 2015. The main of the College of Pharmacy is to train students to be pharmacists and pharmacy technicians so that they can work to improve the overall health of the residents of South Carolina, particularly those that may live in impoverished areas and may have stronger healthcare needs due to their economic circumstances.
The Presbyterian College of Pharmacy is a private school. The tuition for students seeking to be part of the pharmacy program to earn a Pharm.D. degree is $31,500.00 per year. The courses offered at the school cover all of the important aspects involved in Pharmaceutical Sciences and in Pharmacy Management to give students a well-rounded experience of the industry. The time spent in the program also includes real world experience in pharmacy settings in the community throughout the first three years of the program and almost exclusively during the fourth year to give students as much exposure as possible.
