School of Pharmacy

The University of Pittsburgh is one of the largest schooling institutions in the city with the same name. It manages close to 30,000 students and almost 5,000 academic professors. It is not public, but not private either. Instead, it is state related.

The urban campus of 132 acres serves all the 17 schools. While the university was erected in 1787, the pharmacy school has opened its gates in 1878. Today, it is one of the most attractive opportunities for pharmacy aspirants.

Tuition fees are quite varied, so students should inquire personally in order to make sure that they can afford the costs. While basic fees for insurances or textbooks apply to all students, the program type is usually definitive in the final costs, as well as the residency. Pennsylvania residents benefit from various discounts.

The local school of pharmacy is a traditional institution in Pennsylvania. It is one of the oldest schools, while the management brags with a very high rate of employment.

The doctor of pharmacy program is the most complete one. Students must gain 64 credits of pre-professional education before applying for it. Graduate programs are also available and provide MS (both thesis and non-thesis) and Ph.D. degrees.
