James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy

Located in Cincinnati and belonging to the University of Cincinnati, the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy is one of the oldest schools of pharmacy in the United States of America. The university is responsible for more than 75,000 students, yet not all of them study pharmacy though.

The university was established in 1819 and had no pharmacy schools on site. On the other hand, the pharmacy college was opened in the summer of 1850. It run as a private college for more than a century. It merged with the university in 1954. The current name was given in 2007.

There are not too many differences in the tuition fees of multiple programs. The doctorate of pharmacy is the most expensive one. The difference is mostly done by the students’ origins. Ohio students will have to pay around $18,000 per year, while nonresidents must spend more than $30,000 a year.

With an amazing 1:7 professor-student ratio, this college is a main priority for aspirants. Besides, all potential graduates get a job before even graduating, so the rate of employment is 100%.

The doctor of pharmacy degree is the toughest challenge for young students, but the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees are not to be ignored either, whether it comes to drug development, biomembrane sciences and others.
