St. John’s University

College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 8000 Utopia Parkway, Queens, NY 11439

College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

Erected close to a wide and green park from Queens, the St. John’s University College of Pharmacy is one of the oldest and most representative pharmacy institutions in the area. All the schools in the composition of this university carry a Vincentian Catholic Church affiliation.

The university was initially established in 1868, but it was officially accepted two years later. It accommodated about 20,000 students and owns a suburban campus of 105 acres. It has 17 athletic teams and it is nicknamed the Red Storm.

Tuition fees vary from one college to another. When it comes to the school of pharmacy, students must pay about $1,320 per credit hour. Different programs ask for different fees. For instance, the institute of biotechnology charges $1,220 per credit hour, while a Master’s degree in public health costs $1,145 per credit hour. Nonresidents will clearly have to pay for the accommodation as well.

The 1:16 professor-student ratio is not bad for such a large institution. Plus, it is one of the oldest in the area, but also among the front runners.

There are four Bachelor of Science degrees for clinical laboratory sciences, toxicology, radiologic sciences and physician assistance. However, the PharmD doctorate is the most appreciated degree.
